FAQ

Kinvent Muscle Testing and Movement Analysis FAQ

  • What is muscle testing, and how is it different from a regular fitness assessment?

Muscle testing goes beyond general fitness benchmarks by using calibrated sensors and force-measuring tools to evaluate how well individual muscles are actually activating and producing force. At Tampa Performance Alliance, this means objective data rather than a subjective feel — so we can see exactly where your body is underperforming. It is a clinical-style evaluation designed to find the root cause of movement problems, not just the symptoms.

  • Who is this service a good fit for?

It is especially well suited for active adults, gym members, and people who have recently finished physical therapy but still experience lingering soreness, stiffness, or movement limitations they cannot explain. Athletes focused on longevity or injury prevention also benefit, since the testing can catch muscle inhibition before it becomes a bigger problem. If you feel like something is off in how your body moves but have not been able to pinpoint it, this assessment is a strong starting point.
  • What tools or equipment are used during the assessment?

Tampa Performance Alliance uses Kinvent sensors, dynamometers, and force plates to gather measurable data on muscle strength and activation across the body. These are the same types of objective tools used in performance and rehabilitation settings, and they allow for results that can be tracked and compared over time. The goal is to replace guesswork with real numbers.
  • Does this service involve any treatment, or is it purely an evaluation?

The muscle testing and movement analysis session is primarily an assessment — its purpose is to identify which muscles may be inhibited or underactive and how that affects your movement patterns. Based on those findings, we may recommend Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) therapy, corrective exercises, or additional testing such as a 3D body scan or metabolic assessment. Think of it as the starting point that makes every other service more targeted and effective.
